ROUND 2 OF SARMC NATIONAL EVENTS

A big thank you to all that made it possible for AKMC to host the event and also to all that made it happen on the day. Even though numbers were down in comparison to last year’s event the racing was still of the highest Quality.

While reading a motorsport magazine the other night Mr Shaun Webb came across the below quote :

"It is claimed that the secret to greatness in any field is 10 000 hours of focused practice or ten years of dedicated effort – the record for the youngest F1 world champion has fallen three times in six years, primarily because karting now allows committed hopefuls to log the required hours ever sooner.

Starting early comes with the extra benefit that young brains have greater flexibility, soaking up everything until the process becomes entirely natural – top F1 drivers have filled their memory banks with every sensation, vibration, every hint of yaw and roll, every successful pass and are all greats: however becoming a champion involves finding an uncluttered path to access all that data when it really matters, blocking out any distractions, self doubt and negativity.”

Thank you to all the competitors that came out and participated in the event, keep practicing and we hope to see you again next year.
